I’m so excited to share this with you – I’m launching a new kind of retreat that combines all my favorite things: hiking, mindfulness, and building a strong community. Imagine this: a 4-day, 3-night backpacking retreat in the stunning Joshua Tree National Park, right under the magical Pink Super Moon.
Now, here’s the cherry on top – if nature decides to play along, we might witness a Super Bloom! Can you picture the desert floor bursting into a vibrant tapestry of wildflowers? It's a rare and breathtaking sight that transforms Joshua Tree into a living canvas. Whether you’re new to hiking or an old pro, this is a sight you won’t want to miss.
A 38 -mile trek with a total elevation gain of 3,060 feet... yes, you read that correctly 38 miles but you got this! We will break it down into sections.
We’ll reach a maximum elevation of 5,160 feet, offering panoramic views that will take your breath away. Don’t worry if you’re new to this – we’ll cover about 8-10 miles each day, giving us plenty of time to soak in the scenery and support each other along the way. And guess what? We’ll start our days with some rejuvenating yoga sessions as the sun rises over the desert. It’s the perfect way to prepare our bodies for the adventure ahead!
Relish soothing moonlight meditations. Can you imagine sitting together, the moonlight casting an otherworldly glow over the rugged desert landscape?
After a day of hiking, these meditations offer the perfect opportunity to unwind, allowing your body and mind to relax and recover. Imagine sitting quietly as the moonlight casts an otherworldly glow over the rugged desert landscape, bringing a sense of peace and wonder. This serene practice helps to release tension, promote restful sleep, and enhance your overall well-being, making it an essential part of your retreat experience.
The Pink Super Moon is a full moon at its closest point to Earth, appearing larger and more luminous – a truly dreamy sight! Joshua Tree is designated as an International Dark Sky Park, meaning its stargazing opportunities are unparalleled. We'll lay back and marvel at the Milky Way, planets, and shooting stars – it’s going to be so peaceful and magical. Plus, we’ll have a guided journaling workshop to capture all those profound moments we experience. It’ll be a beautiful way to reflect and document our journey
Start your days with rejuvenating yoga sessions as the sun rises over the desert horizon, setting a peaceful and energizing tone for the adventures ahead. These sessions are not just about finding peace but also about preparing your body for the physical demands of the day. Stretching through yoga helps improve flexibility, prevent injuries, and enhance overall performance, ensuring you are physically ready to embrace each day's challenges and fully enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Joshua Tree.
Spend the afternoon after setting up camp blending the serene art of watercolor painting with the reflective practice of nature journaling amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Joshua Tree, or use this time to relax and explore on your own.
Relaxation and Mindfulness: Slow down and immerse yourself in the present moment. Each brushstroke and journal entry brings a deeper sense of peace, complementing the mental clarity gained from hiking.
Capture your unique perspective of the landscapes around you. Whether through vibrant watercolors or thoughtful words, create personal keepsakes that reflect your journey. Allow the beauty of nature to inspire your art and writing, fostering a profound connection and appreciation for your surroundings.
What’s Included?
Portable Art Kits: Each participant receives a lightweight watercolor kit, complete with paints, brushes, and paper everything you need to bring your vision to life. Nature Journaling Supplies: Provided journals, pens, and prompts to help you capture your thoughts, observations, and reflections.
Find your muse at carefully chosen scenic spots, each selected to ignite your creativity and enhance your artistic and journaling experience.
Flexible and Optional
This workshop is completely optional. You are welcome to join in the creative activities or use the downtime to relax, explore the camp, hike nearby trails, or simply enjoy your surroundings in your own way.
And to top it all off, we’ll have a celebratory dinner at Pappy and Harriet’s - one of my favorite JT restaurants. This place is legendary for its rustic charm, live music, and mouthwatering dishes. It’ll be the perfect spot to share stories and celebrate our adventure. As Henry David Thoreau once said, "The world is but a canvas to our imagination." We'll truly live this out at Pappy and Harriet's.
We will provide WhatsApp support to keep everyone connected and informed throughout the retreat. Additionally, there will be a pre Zoom meeting for a check-in and meet-and-greet session, where we will go over important information and get to know each other and one post Zoom call one week after the retreat is over.
I want to make sure this experience is tailored to what you’re looking for. We’ll engage in activities that foster trust and camaraderie among us, creating lasting bonds and a supportive community.

By venturing into the majestic Joshua Tree under the enchanting Pink Super Moon, we refresh our spirits and gain the strength to give back more effectively. This retreat blends hiking, mindfulness, and community-building, ensuring you return renewed and ready to spread positivity in your daily life.
